My name is Nikolaus Stemmer, born in Stuttgart in 1970. I have a M.A. degree in Comparative Literature and Philosophy. I started creating digital media and business transformations in 2000. In 15+ years I have gathered experience and skills both as lead UX designer as well as freelance creative director for high-profile agencies and consultancies, working for a large number of international clients such as Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, smart, MIGROS, TUI, Lufthansa, ZF Friedrichshafen, SIEMENS, MAN, Coca-Cola and Jägermeister.
My work is about creating innovative products and end-to-end services for brands facing consumers. An industry expert with a proven track record, I have gathered hands-on experience in defining, building, marketing and growing online consumer and B2B products and platform services. I combine a solution driven mindset with deep knowledge about how digital platforms can deliver meaningful services. I believe in creative processes and easily navigate the worlds of business, design and technology.
Before starting UX design in 2000, I was as copywriter and journalist for newspaper and radio in the emerging new media field. "textbyte" is more than a reminiscence of this time. It is also a name for my belief that the talent it takes to build truly enriching digital artifacts (not just clutter) in a digitized world needs to be rooted in humanist thinking, reflecting on the long-term impact of what we are creating. Call it "humanist" or "conscious". I like to call it Prototyping Positive Futures.
